U2 - Achtung Baby

This album is still amazballs.  I have been a fan of U2's since their first single hit Mtv back in the Day, I Will Follow form their 1980 debut album Boy.  Achtung Baby was released 11 years later and was their 7th Studio album.  It peaked at #1 in the US and in the UK.  The list of songs on this album is incredible.  Not a bad song among them.  Sounds just as fresh as it did when it was released.

This album was right after Rattle and Hum.  It was a total 180 direction change for the group.

Track Listing

1.  Zoo Station - This was the first song you heard when you first played the album.  Quite a difference from Rattle and Hum.  The song is intriguing and made me want to listen to the next track and so on.  Watch the video and listen tot he song here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ilSfOfpzlU

2.  Even Better Than the Real Thing - Excellent song.  Loved this when I first heard it and still so.  Watch the video here and listen too - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yrch66gdjjk

3.  One - This song was written impromptu during the fights during the recording sessions responsible for this album.  They almost broke up.  This song was the result of them dealing with their personal relationships and the German Reunification at the same time, they were in Berlin recording this.  This song helped them put their differences behind them about the direction of the album and the group...and what a wonderful song it is.  Watch and listen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ftjEcrrf7r0

4.  Until the End of the World - Love this song.  Just love it.  The video is great  Love the News Commentator.  Watch and listen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RfKqtXhF_eM

5.  Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses - Just another wonderful song.  Told you, not a bad one among the list.  Watch and listen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gF4GS9cSll4

6.  So Cruel - This is a slower tempo song.  Discussing the cruelty of relationships.  Listen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ar2OTYKXnww

7.  The Fly - This was another example of U2 being creative with their sound and being edgy.  That is why I loved them so much.  This song is Awesome.  Watch and listen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Y1YFH9A3Bw

8.  Mysterious Ways - Just the Guitar riff at the beginning should attract your attention and make you listen.  This was a huge hit.  Relive it.  Watch and listen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TxcDTUMLQJI

9.  Tryin' to Throw Your Arms Around the World - This is a great song too.  Do you see what I am saying.  Not a bad song.  Watch and listen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w2T2Pkj3Azs

10. Ultraviolet (Light My Way) - This is another example of why The Edge is one of the best Guitarist around.    Great song.  Watch and listen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TUD4CQT33w4

11. Acrobat - The Guitar and drums at the start of this song are just wonderful.  Watch and listen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=reKyNM9sHvs

12. Love is Blindness - This is an excellent song to end the album on.  Many will argue that this song has some of the best Guitar riffs.  Watch and listen in amazement - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kRRFyXkO9WI

Post a comment and tell me how much you loved this album, or if it is the first time you have heard it, tell me what you think of the album.  I think this album is incredible.  It is their best.  U2 have fallen by the wayside and lost their edge, if you will.  I truly hope this album will inspire you to listen to their older stuff as it is just as good as this album.  Different but good.  I just hope that someday U2 will find their way back and create another work of Art like this album.

Ian Van Dahl - Ace

Ian Van Dahl is a Dance Music sensation from Belgium.  This was their first album released in 2002.  The Biggest song on this album was Castle in the Sky, which peaked at 91 on the Billboard charts.  that is damn good for a Belgium Dance Group.  This group consists of 3 members and the albums name "ACE" was taken from their first name initials, Annemie, Christophe and Eric.

Track Listing

1.  Reason - This song was released and reached #8 on the UK charts.  It's a fun song to dance around to.  Watch the video here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K2C_WQFdhKI

2.  Will I? - This song was released and hit #5 on the UK Charts.  It too is a fun song to dance to as most of their songs are.  Definite Rave feel here.  Have a watch and listen - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sUGueeR0hUw

3.  After All - This song was not released, but that means nothing.  This song has a driving beat and a nice electronic feel.  Have a listen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qi9IK3YtMy0

4.  Satisfy Me - This song is simply and straight to the point, whoever she is singing about satisfies her.  Go Gurl!  Again another good song that would be good at a rave.  Listen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MGHJkEidjF0

5.  Nights On Java - Nice Trance song here.  This song shows just how good Ian Van Dahl really is.  The throbbing beats and the keyboards just going to town, all while the lights are flashing all around you changing colors.  Oh Yeah, heaven on the Dancefloor...then the cool down before the eventual and gradual return to ecstasy!  Have a listen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NQG8C28gQYk

6.  Try - Here is another song they released as a single.  It reached #5 in the UK.  They were Trying to understand here.  OK, playing on the lyrics here, but another solid song.  Less trance and more dance.  Watch the video and listen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n0XE1D4YmyM

7.  Lonely - This is a different type of song from them  This is slow.  It is a good song.  Have a listen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=036wPspsi2A  It touches my skin, it touches my soul...it puts the lotion on its skin or it gets the hose again.   Couldn't resist. LOL

8.  Be Mine -  Back to the Trance Dance.  This is a very good song.  It is yet another song where she is singing about a love or longing for a love.  Quit asking if I will be yours and just pay the bill bitch!!  Listen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RMzBvunlzKk

9.  Castles In The Sky - Love Love Love this song.  This was the first song I ever heard from them.  There are some wonderful remixes out there of this song too.  The original is great.  Watch the video and listen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JjTV8i_KjXM

10. Nothing Left To Say -   Love the driving beat and electronic trance feel of this song.  Have a listen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xCvxEl-HULc

11. Tears - Oh, another song about love.  This one is about love being lost.  WAH.  This song is OK.  The beat is quite generic to me and the electronic sounds in the song do nothing to enhance the song.  the song gets a little interesting the farther you go into it, but this just makes the song OK.  You can listen here and judge for yourself - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p6g_TNL1uY0

12. Interlude - 0.47 Seconds

13. Secret Love - Love the way this songs starts.  The Keyboards all the way up, then add in the bass machine.  Nice.  This is one of their signature sounds and it caught on with a lot of bands.  The3y did it right.  Have a listen to this song here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_kgAlLUKseE

14. Tomorrow - Love the start of this song.  It progressively has different sounds added and builds to a lovely momentum.  This is a fun Trance Dance Song and one of the best tracks on this album as far as I am concerned.  Listen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GBseWw7ODLI

I know that not everyone likes dance music or have even heard of Trance Music.  Have a go.  Let me know if you like it, love it, or hate it.  If you hate it why?  I like to know these things.

Accidental Rhythm Mix 1

This is a Compilation album released in 2008.

Track Listing

1)   The Shoes - Knockout (80 Kidz Remix) - This are underground artists and this one is more of a dance/electronic group.  The song shows that they know how to count very well.  Unfortunately, it is not a good song to have as the opening act for an album.  It would make me stop listening.  Fortunately, I didn't hear this song first.  You can listen here, but don't judge the album on the merits of this - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m8x3JzTnwuU

2)   Love Grenades - Tigers in the Fire  This is a great song.  This is just a regular old song.  Not Dance or electronic.  It is very enjoyable and kind to the ear.  Listen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e__R9LVX1xk

3)   Hey Willpower - Hunredaire  Nice Indie Pop Song.  The Video is fun.  The look the guy gives right at the first before the camera pans over to the closet, so gay!  Watch and have a good time here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d6pCFV_Rigg

4)   Grovesnor - Drive Your Car  This song a very distinct Disco feel to it.    This is a weak song as far as I am concerned.  It feels like the singer is struggling through the song just to get to the chorus.  You can listen here and tell me if you hear the same thing - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M2a4vNEiIog

5)   Casxio - Seventeen  Here is another song with a definite Disco feel, but this song was done right.  Love this song.  "Only 17 but my love is real."   This song is a jam and a half.  Watch the video and listen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a405rdEW73Y  Video is kind of lame, but indie means lack of money or support so they did what they could with what they had.

6)   Oh No One - Practical  This is a pretty good song.  The video made me do a double take.  It is a guy singing this and apparently he doesn't own a comb.   You can watch the video here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sVkGtqkirwY

7)   Bran Van 3000 - Montreal  This song is laid back and have a nice grove to it.  listen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5-BfbjYRPrw

8)   Buddy - Salt Point  This is more of an Indie Pop song and it is good.  Have a listen to it here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mvNUDWuhJDs

9)   The Twelve's - I Feel Fine  This is a descent Indie Pop song.  Nice beat and you can groove to it  Listen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cwKh3JasR_0

10)  Theatre of Disco - Party at Plato's  This song is has a nice melody and guitar riffs.  Very Solid Indie Pop Rock song.  I like this song lots.  Listen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k0rZj2CFTUI

11)  The Morning Benders - Worth the Fight  This Indie Pop Rock song is definitely a great way to round out this record.  It just hits your ear right, ya know what I mean?  Mellow and good rhythm.  Listen to it here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sWEoUdfmeq4

All in all, this compilation album is a good listen.  Especially if you are OVER the radio stations in your area playing the same 10-15 songs over and over and still bring in Spin Doctors" 2 Princes".  OMG if I hear that song one more time I am going full on Psycho and going after the DJ's. OK, not really, but I am sure you get me on that one.  All in all I liked most of the songs, except #1 and #4.

Have a listen through and let me know if you like love or HATER this.  I like to know these things.

Muse - Absolution

I came in late on these guys.  there was a period I just kind of gave up on new music as it all just seemed like utter shit.  I finally listened to these guys a couple of years ago because someone I knew recommended them.  I was really surprise at the composition and songwriting skills these kids showed in their music.

This album is tits.  If you don't know that expression, just ask a straight guy what tits are.  He says. " GOOD!!" and then starts to drool.  Anyway...  Here is the album cover.  A little weird and could have been better..but the music, Tre Magnifique, and isn't that what it is all about anyway.

This album was released in 2004 here in the US and it was their third.  This album has a darker, heavier tone then the albums that preceded it.  While the album hit #1 in the UK, it only got as high as 107th in the US.  Ouch!  We showed no love, but wait.  This was the first album to chart in the US and established their fan base in the US, so sayeth Wikipedia.  The two songs that got radio play in the US were Hysteria and Time is Running Out.  Critics hailed this album as their most cohesive work to date.

Interested... well look below.

Track Listing

1)  Intro - This is 22 seconds long.  Big Whoppee

2) Apocalypse Please - There is no official video, but someone put this song to scenes from some Anime (Akira and Evangeline)  AWESOME!  Here is that video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cbNawzkTKrg    I love it when people do that.  Especially to strong songs like this.

3) Time is Running Out - Here is the Official Video for this song.  Another Solid song and video from Muse. - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QfwEUzzDtzo

4)  Sing for Absolution - Here is the Video for this song - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Ck6Hcg2cjk  Has some Anime of its own.  Nice Video and another solid song.

5)  Stockholm Syndrome - This songs just rocks.  The Guitar riffs are present right from the start.  Here is the video for this song - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gXN9acC9edU  Another good listen.

6)  Falling Away With You - This is a slower song and it is done to perfection.  Muse didn't put a video out for it, but here is one with the movie "Eternal Sunshine for the Spotless Mind".  Not one of favorite movies.  Here is the video so you can atl least listen to the song - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ErSVktFCxLo

7)  Interlude - 37 second interlude

8)  Hysteria - No matter what, when I see this name I automatically think of Def Leppard.  This is a solid song and one of the best on this release.  Watch the video and listen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k7la0SndoCI&list=RDk7la0SndoCI#t=17

9)  Blackout - This is a slow song for Muse, however the poor guitarist must have gotten arthritis playing the guitar part in the middle of the song.  It is the fastest guitar riff Muse has and it is on the slowest song.  Wicked.  Click here to listen. - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dee3RSgUWiM

10) Butterflies and Hurricanes- Great Song and the video is fun to watch as well.  Click here to watch and listen - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EzCKrwOme2U

11) TSP - TSP means the Small Print.  when I first saw this come up on my Media Player, I was like Teaspoon??  Then listened to the song and got what they meant.  You can listen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v5LMc_oxwvw  warning, the lyrics are written in Spanish.  No English Lyric video was present.

12) Endlessly - Love Song from Muse, that's different.  Still good.  You can click here to listen to this song - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rQuExgINlSQ

13) Thoughts of a Dying Atheist -  Listen before you start spouting off at the mouth.  I am even attaching the Lyric video so you can read along and get the meaning.  Watch that here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SIwXMPhM0FU

14) Ruled by Secrecy - Nice song to end this trip on.  I have been finding each album is a concept, from start to finish.  This album dealt with the apocalyptic concept.  Listen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hx3jL4NpYh8

Let me know if you are a fan of Muse.  If you weren't or had never heard of them, did you listen and like their album.  Have a listen to their other works. These guys are worth the time to listen to.

ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS - Pet Shop Boys CD4 Single

The 90's was all about Party Party Party and nothing or no one personified this more that Absolutely Fabulous.  The show was so great, the Pet Shop Boys made a dance hit Craze about them.   Now, I had not planned on Reviewing CD Singles, but this song deserves it's own post simply because it is connected to the BBC Show.

Track Listing

1)  Absolutely Fabulous (Single Mix) - Here is the Fabulous Video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tH3R4CGHn6U

2) Absolutely Fabulous (Our Tribe Tongue in Cheek Mix) - Here is a video with the song.  FABULOUS - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F3001MR7S18

3) Absolutely Dubulous - Here's the Song - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y-1KmepPPzY

4) Absolutely Fabulous (Dull Soulless Dance Music Mix) - Listen to this mix here - http://www.tagtele.com/videos/voir/63735/

If you have not watched Absolutely Fabulous, please go watch now.  We can discuss later.  As for my favorite mix, well, I actually like them all equally.  they each have something different to offer and they all are about Ab fab.  Can't go wrong there.

An 80's band quite often overlooked.

Absolutely ABC:  The Best of ABC

Sadly, this group is often overlooked when people talk abut the best bands of the 1980's.  I loved them then and quite often listen to their music now, well in the 2000-teens.  There I was, stuck in SE Georgia in the 80's.  Hating my life because my folks dragged me from Oah'u where we had live for my 4th, 5th, and 6th grade years.  I had never been a kid that listened to music.  I enjoyed going out to play with my friends, but since moving back to Georgia, Putney, Ga. to be exact, I had become much more introverted.  I had given up on sports, going out to look for new friends, and play.  I just sat in our new house at 4824 Pinto Dr. Albany, Ga..  Putney was so small, we had to use Albany, Ga. in our address so the Post Office could find us.

This is when I discovered music.  You see, even though we were in Bum-fucked Egypt, they had cable out there.  Very different from the cable of today, but we actually got this new Cable station called, Mtv.  My parent believed all the hype that Mtv would break your TV. Them Music videos were inspiring Satanic worship and would cause drug addiction.

That is the station that showed me the British Invasion.  Our Radio stations played Country.  Oh, Yay.  I was so happy about that - trust me if you could hear me as I type this out that last sentence was DRENCHED in sarcastic overtones.  One of the first groups I got to hear and like was ABC.  The first song, Poison Arrow.  The music was tits and the video Sauvé and a bit more sophisticated than most other music videos.  The lead singer was dressed to the nines and was very dapper.

Enough of the history lesson.  ABC simply kicked ass in the 80's.  Their music was fun and their videos were always interesting.  This album celebrates their entire catalogue of hits.  The first song on this is the first song I heard from them.  HAH!  Kismet!

Leave any comments.  Let me know what your favorite song from ABC is, if you can pick

My Favorite song from ABC is Be Near Me.

Beyonce - Above and Beyonce: Dance Mixes

Ok.  About 6 years ago, I started liking Beyoncé again.  I was a HUGE Destiny's Child fan and when they broke up, I was ticked off.  It just reminded me of the Supremes and how the broke up.  I mean the broke up and a minute later she had a new Solo album.  Whatever bitch.  So I was done with her.  The she came out with Single Ladies (Put a Ring on it).  It was just so catchy.  Sam and I both caught it.  Sam has not rhythm and cannot dance.  So he would do this little dance to it and it was just too cute for words.  (Sam is my...Boyfriend, no too juvenile:  Lover (what is this the 80's?); Partner (no we are not a law firm)...Husband (No we are not married)...I just don't know what the term is nowadays, we are just Doug and Sam or Sam and Doug.  However you want to say it, I don't care.  I am not politically correct so call us puffers for all I give a shit.

ANYWAYS...so after this I started, slowly listening to Beyoncé again.  I got one album, then another, and then another.  Got her back catalogue started getting her new stuff.  I came across this on www.MP3Fiesta.com and some of these remixes are (Depending on the era you grew up) Dope, On Point, Tight, The Shiz Niz, The Shit, etc.

This was released in 2009.  2 Discs and a total of 16 songs  The first disc was a DVD and it had 8 videos.  The second Disc had the Music remixes.  This album spent 48 weeks on the Dance Charts.  So needless to say it did pretty well.

Disc 2 Track Listing

1) If I Were A Boy (Maurice Joshua Mojo UK Remix)  Click here to hear this mix - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IvftD4jEwqg   Nice Pounding bass line and smooth melodies.  Nice since the original song is much slower.  This is a great dance interpretation of the song.

2) Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It) [DJ Escape & Tony Coluccio Club Remix]  This is a Solid Dance remix for a song that was already quite danceable and perfect the way it was.  This speeds us the song and puts more Beats and electronic sounds.  Click here to listen - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R7rftyvcqbM

3) Broken Hearted Girl (Catalyst Remix)  This is an OK Dance interpretation of this song.  I so much prefer the original.  It's not bad, mind you.  To me, it sounds too rushed and sped up that the lyrics seem to drag it down.  They tried to give it a taste of the hard pounding Amsterdam Techno Beat.  the Original song is much better.  You can click here to listen to this remix - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vIGJT862UE8

4) Sweet Dream (Harlan Pepper & Ag lii Remix)  This is a great Remix.  True to the original, as it allows the lyric to flow naturally, but it has many electronic elements added.  Nice bass line.  Makes you wanna do the "Bucket Seat Boogie" as I call it while you are driving or even while sitting at your desk writing on a blog.   This is a fun and dance floor attention grabbing song.  Listen by clicking here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gQ6jzqptrUo

5) Diva (Karmatronic Club Remix)  Diva was one of those weird songs that just worked the way it was on her album.  When I first heard it I was like What?  As the song progressed, I liked it more, so I had to listen again and again and I ended up loving the song.  So knowing there was a remix on this album I was hesitant on how they would re-work this odd little diddy.  They didn't speed up the lyric, thankfully.  I think that would have ruined it.  This remix is fun and can see the girls at the club singing along - "Ima Ima a Diva".  Fun Remix  Listen by clicking here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ip9KSqj0ErI

6) Halo (Dave Aude Club Remix)  This remix is a chill remix.  Great beat and stays true to the original by allowing the vocals to remain the same.  Not very electronic more like a House remix.  This is a song you and your friends like and dance around your spot in the club, but it is not a Dance floor runner.  You can listen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2zt-ph31lzg

7) Ego (Ok Dac Remix)  This remix changes the song lots.  Electronic elements are very present.  This remix is OK.  I would not run to the dance floor or dance around the house either to this one.  I pretty much push next because there are better songs out there.  Judge for yourself as everyone has different tastes - Click here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NyiOgwfqrN0

8) Ego (Remix feat. Kanye West)  OK, I know everyone just loves Kanye.  I could care less.  I don't think he is Yesus or anything else.  Here is the Video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iW5EzxFR4SM  Here is the original Beyonce song without Kanye so it is much better - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hbnPkK76Ask

Many of you have probably never heard of or never listened to a Remix Album.  They can be worth it if you like Dance Music, but not every remix is good.  that is why I listen before I buy.  I like this one so I got it.  If you like Beyoncé and like to revisit older songs that have a newer twist, try this remix album, or just click the links and SAVE yo Money!!  HA HA, Peace (How 80's)

ANGEL - About Time

I was crusin' the internet one night *See Straight people Surf the Net.  Gay people cruise it.  "Memba that. OK!.  I was just going all over reading articles, listening to music, watching videos, and CAREFULLY clicking on links just letting it take me where it wanted to.  I came across a song named Wonderful from an emerging British R&B singer, Angel

I really liked the song (Click Here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jubKVp_hpE0 )  So I went looking for other songs.  His videos are like Short Motion Pictures.  .  I found other singles from him and started listening to them

Here is Go In, Go Hard" Click Here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dp3rmlg_svo&list=UUFO74ILT2VTx6hGokWWeafA&index=19  This was his first song released.

Here is "The World" Click here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WQ70Ycvwe7k&index=5&list=UUFO74ILT2VTx6hGokWWeafA

Here is "Time After Time" Click Here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vae91nUMgow&index=10&list=UUFO74ILT2VTx6hGokWWeafA

Lately he has releases some new singles.  They are below.  Same style of music.  I still feel Wonderful was the best so far from Angel.

Here is "Run This" click here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5yfjZtHnonY&list=UUFO74ILT2VTx6hGokWWeafA  This shows it was released August of 2014.

Here is "US" click here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Wfq96sYYEM&list=UUFO74ILT2VTx6hGokWWeafA  This shows to have been released Jan 2014

Angel mixes Rap with singing and at least he can sing and doesn't use Autotune for every song on everything he releases, unlike Kanye!   I think Angel could be a break out artist if he can just find the right song to break the US Charts.  He has already broken the UK Charts with his first album.  With these newer releases I feel Angel is gearing up to release an EP or a new album soon.  This is an Artist to watch out for in the R&B Rap Genre.

Erasure - Abba-Esque

I am not sure how this is going to work, so I am diving right in.  Right now I am using my iPod Classic to guide me.  The first album I am reviewing is not al album at all.  It is an EP.  What is an EP you ask.  Well, an EP actually means Extended Play.   It is for recordings that contains more than one single, but are too small to be considered an actual album.  That's simply enough.

OK, this EP is from Erasure.  It is called Abba-Esque.  Released in 1992, this is a 4 song EP that celebrates the wonderful of the Supergroup ABBA from Sweden.  If you don't know who ABBA is, then you probably were born after 1995, I'm guessing.  Do yourself a favor.  Delve into the ABBA library.  You will love their music.  Anyway, the track listed is:

1) Lay All Your Love On Me
2) S.O.S.
3) Take A Chance On Me
4) Voulez-Vous

While Erasure stayed true to the original subject matter, they did Erasure it up quite a bit.  This is a fun album and all 4 songs are worth the price I paid when this CD Came out.  You can probably get it much cheaper on iTunes nowadays since it is only 4 songs long.

Track 1 - Lay all your love on me.  Click on this link to see the video and hear the song on YouTube - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TlYcgp8Nsp4.  This video has nothing to do with the song itself.  It is just Vince Clarke and Andy Bell having fun with a green screen on a gold motorbike.  Wearing Gold Lame.  Andy Bell looks so good here.  Before he got hooked on Plastic Surgery.

Track 2 - S.O.S.  Click on this link to see the video and hear the music on You Tube - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ixTxa9YeX0U   This video is much better, but it is just all about the music.

Track 3 - Take A Chance on Me.  Click here to see the video and hear the song on YouTube - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qSnLGdpjWf4  This is by far the FUNNEST video they made for the songs on this EP.  Vince and Andy in Drag.  Hilarious.  Dancing around and having a blast.  Join them while listening to this song.  The dancing part, not the drag, unless you want to.  Make a video and post it here.  Would love to see it and share with my friends.

Track 4 - Voulez-Vous.  Click here to see the video and hear the song on YouTube - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WblFcLctZQE  This is by far the most Electronic Remake of any of the songs on this EP.  Love it.

All in All I love this EP.  These videos got huge airplay on Mtv, who still played music video's at the time, and it brought a whole new audience to the pair.

Erasure is the Brain-Child of Vince Clarke.  Vince is one of the founding members of Depeche Mode.  He left them and formed the superb group known as Yaz in the US and Yazoo in the UK.  Alison Moyet was on vocals in that group.  They had 2 great albums and then the dream was over.  Vince was looking for a new singer in a trade mag, Melody Maker, and Andy Bell answered the ad.

Their first Demo sent to the Record group was "Who Needs Love Like That" a technician wrote Erasure on the tape mistaking it for a tape needing to be erased.  It is believed that is how they came up with the name Erasure.  Their first album was named Wonderland.  The band was going nowhere fast with the first three releases from the album.  The Forth release, Sometime, garnered hit status in the UK and people started paying attention from there.  I have been a fan from the first album and have them all.

OK, that's enough History, back to the EP.  I was hoping for a Full Abba Remake album since this was so successful.  Alas, it didn't happen.  I guess it is best to dabble, make it a hit, and leave us wanting more.  Erasure - we want MORE ABBA remakes from you.  It is time.

Welcome
